Korean actor Park Hae-jin has been set to star in Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun’s upcoming time-traveling drama.
Park will take on the sub male role in SBS’s upcoming series, whose title is translated into “The Man from the Stars,” the show’s producing company HB Entertainment said in a press release Wednesday.
The actor will take on a conglomerate’s inheritor Lee Jae-kyung, who has nice looks, great intelligence and even caring for others. The character is an older brother of Lee Hwi-kyung, the fiancée of Jun’s top star character Chun Song-i.
Park’s agency WM Company was quoted as saying, “We have received numerous love calls requesting Park’s appearance as the lead actor. But we came to decide to star in this drama with charming character of Lee Jae-kyung and our trust in the scriptwriter and director.”
Inspired by a historical record of discovering UFO in 1609, the romance drama will center on Do Min-jun (Kim), a man from outer space who has lived on Earth since four hundred years ago and Chun, a top celebrity called as “Goddess of Hallyu.”
Written by hit scriptwriter Park Ji-eun of 2012 smash hit drama “My Husband Got a Family” and helmed by producer Jang Tae-you of SBS’s award-winning drama “Deep Rooted Tree,” the upcoming time-slip series will hit airwaves in December after current series “The Inheritors” ends its run.
