KBS’s weekend drama series “King’s Family” stood atop weekly TV charts for a whopping 10th week in a row.
The 50-part family epic attained its 10th crown of the AGB Nielson Media Research’s (Nielson Korea) weekly TV chart after drawing in an average 31.3 percent of total viewers during the week of November 4 and 10, the chart showed on Monday.
KBS’s new weekday drama series “Melody of Love” made its sparking debut at No. 2 with an average viewership of 22.1 percent.
Starring K-pop idol SISTAR member Dasom, actor Baek Sung-hyun and singer-and-actor Kim Hyung-jun, the drama centers on three families whose members learn to appreciate their family and regret their misbehaves.
The same channel’s Sunday comedy show “Gag Concert” secured its number three position after attracting 18.7 percent of total viewers, while KBS’s primetime news show “KBS 9 o’clock News” also kept to sit at No. 4 with an average of 18.3 percent ratings.
Once again, KBS’s Wednesday and Thursday melodrama series “Secret Love” shot to number five after grabbing average 16.6 percent of drama manias in the same time frame.
Other TV shows much beloved last week were MBC’s daily drama “Princess Aurora,” MBC’s variety shows “Where Are We Going, Dad?/ Real Man,” “Infinite Challenge,” KBS’s daily drama “The Ruby Ring” and SBS’s teenage romcom “The Inheritors.”
Meanwhile, TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistic) showed the top three programs in the same order yet with different figures from Nielsen Korea’s ratings survey for last week.
“King’s Family” grabbed the top seed with an average rating of 30.4 percent, while “Melody of Love” and “Gag Concert” followed the next two spots with average scores of 22.7 and 17.6, respectively.
