K-pop singer to world star PSY will make a special appearance in Korean animated film “THE NUT JOB.”
PSY’s 3D character and his world sensation hit tune “Gangnam Style” will be featured in the film, which will open in 3000 screens around the United States on January 17 next year and more 110 countries afterwards.
In the home-made 3D animation, powered by whopping 45 billion Korean Won (approximately 42 million US Dollars), the characters will show horse dance moves together with PSY’s character at the ending credit of the film.
The special appearance of PSY was made possible after his agency YG Entertainment and the film’s producing firm Red Rover agreed quota investment and strategic alliance this August, YG explained in a press release Wednesday.
When revealing the animation at test previews, Hollywood professionals, officials with overseas distributors, children and family audiences laughed out loud and followed dances of “Gangnam Style,” officials with Red Rover explained.
“THE NUT JOB,” voice-played by Hollywood actors Liam Neeson and Katherine Heigl, will be distributed by major Hollywood studio Open Road in the US and by The Weinstein Company outside of US.
