KBS’s weekend drama series “King’s Family” added one another crown to its already impressive winning record on weekly TV charts.
The 50-part family epic scooped up the last trophy of this year’s weekly TV ratings chart after grabbing in average 37 percent of total viewers during the week of December 23 and 29, AGB Nielson Media Research’s (Nielson Korea) chart showed on Monday.
At the No. 2 position is the same channel’s weekdays TV drama “Melody of Love,” which secured its runner-up place with an average mark of 25.8 percent in the same time frame.
SBS’s TV romcom “Love from Star,” starring top stars Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun, shot to No. 3 with an average viewership of 19.8 percent.
KBS’s weekdays drama “The Ruby Ring” also took one step up to number four with an average figure of 18.5 percent, while KBS’s daily prime time news show “KBS News 9” rounded off the top five after attracting an average of 18.1 percent viewers.
Other popular TV shows last week were KBS’s longest-running singing audition “Korea Sings,” MBC’s historic epic “Empress Ki, Battle of Flowers,” KBS’s Sunday comedy show “Gag Concert,” KBS’s morning soup “TV Novel: Eunhi,” MBC’s Sunday variety show “Dad, Where Are You Going?/ Real Man” and MBC’s Saturday variety show “Infinite Challenge.”
In the meantime, TNmS (Total National Multimedia Statistic) showed the top three programs in the different order and figures from Nielsen Korea’s ratings survey for last week.
“King’s Family” grabbed the top seed with an average rating of 35.4 percent, while “Melody of Love” and “Korea Sings” followed the next two spots with average scores of 26.5 and 18.2, respectively.
