SBS drama series “Love From Star” has broken through 20 percent ratings mark, cementing itself as the ruler of Wednesday and Thursday prime time TV charts.
The No. 1 series attracted an average of 23.5 percent viewers on January 1 and 2, grabbing the first top place of the new year on the AGB Nielsen Media Research (Nielsen Korea) chart.
Breaking its best ratings record in third week of airing, the time-travelling drama portrayed hardships of Korea’s top star Cheon Song-I (Jung Ji-hyun) after spotted as a suspect of her fellow actress’s murder case by reporters and the public.
Sitting at the No. 2 spot is MBC’s period-set drama “Miss Korea,” which grabbed in an average viewership of 9.2 percent in the same time frame.
KBS’s drama “Bel Ami” sat at the bottom of the chart after drawing in 4.4 percent of average viewers with only one week left to end its lovely stories.
Meanwhile, TNmS’ (Total National Multimedia Statistic) survey showed the three programs in the same order yet slightly different figures from Nielsen Korea’s.
While “Love From Star” cemented its top spot with an average rating of 21.9 percent, “Miss Korea” and “Bel Ami” followed next two spots, each with average scores of 7.8 and 3.8, respectively.
