SBS series “Love From Star” has scooped up the fourth crown on Wednesday and Thursday TV charts.
The Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun starrer has stood atop the AGB Nielsen Media Research (Nielsen Korea) chart, drawing in an average of 24.3 percent on January 8 and 9, the chart showed on Wednesday.
Breaking its best ratings record every week, the fantasy romance story has been grabbing more and more viewers with its interesting love story across the past and the present of top Hallyu star Cheon Song-I (Jun) and a man from outer space Do Min-jun (Kim).
At the number two place is MBC’s period-set drama “Miss Korea,” which grabbed in an average viewership of 8.0 percent, a drop of 1.2 percent from last week’s score.
KBS’s drama “Bel Ami,” starring Jang Keun-suk and IU, closed its curtain at the bottom of the chart after drawing in disappointing 3.9 percent of average viewers.
As the follow-up to cartoon-turned-drama, Kim Hyun-joong’s period-set action drama “Inspiring Generation” is set to fill up the empty time slot from next week.
The comic book-based drama will be set in Shanghai in the 1930s and will highlight the topics of love, friendship, patriotism and ambition that youngsters of the time experienced. Kim took the lead role opposite to actresses Jin Se-yeon and Lim Soo-hyang.
Meanwhile, TNmS’ (Total National Multimedia Statistic) survey showed the three programs in the same order yet slightly different figures from Nielsen Korea’s.
While “Love From Star” dominated the chart again with an average rating of 22.5 percent, “Miss Korea” and “Bel Ami” followed next two spots, each with average scores of 7.3 and 3.6, respectively.
