Girls’ Generation’s comeback to the local music scene has hit a snag.

As of now, the nine-member group are set to release what will be their fourth mini-album named “Mr.Mr.” on February 24 and its title track of the same name in advance online on February 19. They are also set to promote their new tune on televised music shows from the following day onward.

However, an official with the group’s agency SM Entertainment told TenAsia on Friday, “We found out that we have lost part of the data for the music video and are in the process of trying to restore it.”

The official then added, “We are discussing on their upcoming schedule including their comeback date,” while being unable to say when a decision would be made.

This means their comeback could be delayed due to the importance music videos hold to singers’ musical activities these days: they help promote and sell and album, and the number of hits they receive are reflected into their score on televised music shows.

Girls’ Generation, composed of members Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Sunny, Jessica, Seohyun, Yoona, Sooyoung and Yuri, last released their fourth studio album “I Got a Boy” in January of last year.
