Korean actor Ha Jung-woo may star in an upcoming movie helmed by famed director Ryoo Seung-wan, according to his agency fantagio.

On Wednesday, an official with fantagio told 10Asia that Ha is almost decided on taking part in Ryoo’s new movie “Berlin” (translated title) though they are working on the final details for the contract.

“Nothing has been finalized yet but Ha is likely to take on the role of a North Korean soldier,” the official explained.

Meanwhile, an official with the movie’s investor CJ E&M Pictures said that actors Ryoo Seung-bum and Han Suk-kyu are still in talks regarding their appearance in “Berlin.”

“Berlin” will follow the story of a North Korean soldier who embarks on an adventure in Berlin, Germany after being kicked out of the North Korean Forces.

Ha, whose real name is Kim Sung-hoon, is the son of veteran Korean actor Kim Yong-gun. He first gained recognition appearing in several television dramas including “Lovers in Prague” (SBS, 2005) and TV series “H.I.T.”

He rose to stardom after playing a serial killer in suspense thriller pic “The Chaser” (2008) and solidified his movie star status with “Take Off” (2009), which became one of the most-watched films in Korean box office history.

He recently finished shooting a romance film “Love Fiction” (translated title) opposite actress Kong Hyo-jin.
